President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani is starting an official visit to Cuba this Monday.
Rouhani will travel to Havana from Venezuela, where he was attending the 17th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
At the summit, taking place on Margarita Island, the Iranian president handed over the rotating presidency of NAM –the world’s second largest grouping after the United Nations- to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
During his stay in Cuba, the Iranian leader will hold talks with his Cuban counterpart, President Raúl Castro.
