Exhibition on Fidel Castro Tours South African Provinces

Exhibition on Fidel Castro Tours South African ProvincesWith the opening of a photographic exhibition on Fidel Castro, the University of Western Cape (UWC) joined the extensive tribute in South Africa to the Cuban leader on occasion of his recent 90th birthday.
The exhibition, coordinated by the Association of Friends of Cuba in South Africa, the Cuban Embassy and Prensa Latina News Agency, moved to the southwestern region, after being on display for one month at the Freedom Park Monument in Pretoria, in Gauteng province.

Each photo speaks for itself and watching them is like touring the history of Cuba over the last 50 years, because Fidel’s life is the life of the Cuban Revolution, journalist Zenzile Khoisan told Prensa Latina.

The photos were taken in different periods by photo-journalists from Prensa Latina, which was founded in June 1959.

The exhibition, to be open until September 28, found an excellent space at the Robben Island Museum Mayibuye Archives of the University of Western Cape.

From Western Cape, the exhibition will go to Free State province and later to Limpopo and Eastern Cape.
