Education sector in Guantanamo for the success of the coming school year Guantanamo.- The educational sector in Guantanamo works to guarantee the material resources necessary for the coming school year, and successfully implement new strategies for Education in Cuba.


Giorvis Taquechel, director in the sector of Education in Guantanamo, told reporters that currently several tasks are prioritized, including the finishing of works for the imminent opening of nine urban high schools, which host a number of over 4 thousand students.

This experience will help to rationalize the material, human and financial resources in the sector and will bring these levels of education to students in their own areas of residence.

Taquechel also pointed out that as part of the transformation in the sector, the opening in the city of Guantanamo of a new teacher training school, with an initial enrollment of 600 students from all municipalities in the province.

This teaching, taken up in the territory after several years, will allow those enrolled to receive a general preparation to undertake teaching of preschool and primary education, which forms the basis of Cuban education.
