Guantánamo.- The easternmost province of Cuba had a different dawn this Saturday when thousands of locals from Guantánamo took the streest, avenues and squares along the ten municipalities of the territory to celebrate May Day.(In images) Locals from Guantánamo Celebrate May Day
Once again, Caimanera showed why the appellative of “the first anti-imperialist trench of Cuba” is given to this territory, separated by a few millimeters from the ilegal US naval base. There, the media campaing against Cuba orchestrated by the European Parliament was strongly rejected in another patriotic demonstration.
The parade was echoed in the rest of Guantánamo municipalities where the workers with their relatives expressed their loyalty and attachment to the social system running in Cuba snce 1959 as well as the independence and sovereignty feelings of people.
Women, youths, old men and children accompanied by their parents, participated in the celebration of the International Workers Day in Guantánamo, a moment of supporting the Cuban Revolution and its main leaders, Raúl and Fidel Castro, as well as the demanding of justice for the Five Cuban antiterrorists imprisoned in US jails.
